SGS Energy are specialists in renewable energy solutions working with both domestic and commercial clients. They advise on and install a variety of energy solutions, from solar panels and battery storage, to ground and air source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation.
Working with Hyra
SGS Energy came to Hyra to install a huge number of solar panels on the roof of a warehouse. They wanted a safe and efficient way to lift the panels into place, without extending their programme. They worked closely with our solar specialist, who knows the market inside-out and was able to offer a solution not widely seen in the UK. He sourced a Geda SolarLift, manufactured in Germany, to install the panels.
This innovative solution meant the panels were lifted safely and highly efficiently to rooftop level, thereby alleviating the need for manual hoists, plus the associated risks of panel damage in high winds and possible breaches of health and safety requirements when the panels shatter and fall to ground. The solution saved 3 weeks' labour costs and shaved 3 weeks off the completion date.
Hyra was SGS’s first port of call for this project, having provided good customer service and high quality kit on previous jobs. For this particular project, Hyra supplied boom lifts and fencing as well as IPAF training for staff to safely operate the powered access plant.
